Strouse’s previous films include Grace is Gone and Lonesome Jim. The film stars Sam Rockwell (Frost/Nixon, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind), rising star Emma Roberts (Lymelife, Blow)) and Rob Corddry (W, What Happens in Vegas).
The story follows a basketball coach who must learn to overcome his love of alcohol, his chauvinistic attitude towards women and his machismo.
The film is produced by Plum Pictures’ Galt Niederhoffer, Celine Rattray and Daniela Lundberg as well as Kara Baker and Gia Walsh. It is financed by Gigi Production, Plum Pictures and ContentFilm International.
The film is currently in production in New York. ContentFilm International will present the film at AFM 2008 and will screen footage from the first few days of shooting.
CFI President Jamie Carmichael said, “We loved the script and Jim has a wonderful take on this unusual female comedy! He’s clearly a talent and we’re very pleased to be in business with everyone at Gigi Productions and Plum Pictures.”
