Melling had been vice president sales at Granada International and previously worked at BBC Worldwide, Capitol Films and Pandora in Paris.
He will also run seek to add new titles and libraries to the division.
President of CFI Jamie Carmichael said: “We have a growing slate of high quality features, and we’re looking to bring in many more. It’s a real coup for us to get Toby on board – its going to generate a lot of business for us and our producers.”
Melling added: “I am delighted to be just concentrating on feature films again and working with a library with such great potential. We’re looking to aggressively expand the division and the titles under our management.”
ContentFilm’s catalogue includes titles such as Transamerica, Black Book, Shooting Dogs, Driving Lessons, Open Range, Rules of Engagement, Rat Race, House of Sand and Fog, The Cooler, The Business, The Crow, Bad Lieutenant, and Shooting Fish.
