Laura Linney and Julie Walters will star with “Harry Potter” star Rupert Grint in “Driving Lessons,” the directorial debut of Brit screenwriter Jeremy Brock.
Pic is the first from RubberTreePlant, the newly formed production banner of former Industry Entertainment exec Julia Chasman (“25th Hour,” “Quills”).
Shooting starts next month in London and Edinburgh. ContentFilm Intl. is handling worldwide sales, with co-financing from the UK Film Council’s Premiere Fund and a pre-sale of UK TV rights to ITV.
“Driving Lessons” is a comedy/drama about a shy teenage boy (Grint) who starts to escape from the influence of his domineering mother (Linney) when he goes to work for a retired actress (Walters).
Ed Pressman and Alessandro Camon are serving as exec producers.
