Fireworks International has signed a raft of deals for Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda, with Sony Pictures Television International taking season five for its AXN channels in Japan, Israel and Central Europe. The new season has also been sold to Spain and Germany. French cable and satellite rights for all five seasons have been acquired by Euro TV. Greece’s ERT has signed for the first 44 episodes, and DVD and video rights for the UK and Australia have also been sold.
Fireworks, recently acquired by ContentFilm, has already sold the series to AXN in Asia and Latin America, Sky TV in New Zealand, and Filmlux in Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The UK’s ITV4 has acquired seasons one and two, and Daro Film has acquired all five seasons for Portugal, Turkey, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
