London, 16th March 2009: Greg Phillips, President of Fireworks International, the television distribution arm of ContentFilm plc, has announced the promotion of Jonathan Ford to Executive Vice-President, Digital Acquisitions and Distribution.
In addition to his responsibilities overseeing the licensing of Fireworks International and ContentFilm International’s new and library programming and development content to digital media outlets worldwide, Ford will actively look to partner with producers of original content made for digital platforms from as early on as development stage, providing digital expertise of the marketplace, help in securing full or part-finance and ultimately marketing and selling the shows worldwide. The Digital division operates alongside the company’s Fiction and Non-Fiction divisions.
Commenting on the promotion, Greg Phillips, President of Fireworks International, said, “Jonathan’s understanding of the sector, strategic marketing and sales prowess plus his absolute commitment to the growth of the Digital division has been instrumental in the expansion of our digital library, which now boasts more than 230 hours of short and long form content. Jonathan and his team will continue to evaluate this very valuable sector of the business, and more specifically look at opportunities to establish additional revenue streams from alternative business models.”
In addition, underscoring the group’s faith in the sector, Patrick O’Connor-Read who joined the company in 2008, has been promoted to Director of Digital Distribution. Commenting on this promotion, Ford said, “We are pleased to recognise Patrick’s accomplishments and significant contributions to the team with this promotion. Building the digital team underpins the group’s overall strategy across the emerging media sector and Patrick’s expertise will be invaluable as the Digital division continues to expand.”
