ContentFilm International has acquired worldwide sales rights to Mythic International Entertainment’s IRONCLAD.
Directed by Jonathan English (Minotaur), IRONCLAD is an ultra violent medieval action thriller combining a superb ensemble cast with some of the biggest and award winning names in Editing, Production Design, Cinematography and Stunts. The film is set to go in production in the summer ’09.
IRONCLAD stars James Purefoy (Solomon Kane, Vanity Fair, Resident Evil) as a Templar Knight, Paul Giamatti (Shoot ’Em Up, The Illusionist, Cinderella Man) as the sly and deceitful King John together with Bob Hoskins (Hollywoodland, Long Good Friday), Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty, The Beach), Pete Postlethwaite (The Omen, The Constant Gardner), Lord Richard Attenborough (Elizabeth), William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Colm Meany (Layer Cake, Intermission) and Angus McFayden (Saw III, IV, V, Equilibrium).
Visceral and stylized action combined with impassionate heroism and romance, IRONCLAD tells the true story of a motley crew of tough, battle hardened warriors, who withstood several brutal and bloody months under siege, in a desperate bid to defend their country’s freedom. Well crafted and intense throughout, the film delivers ferocious yet breathtaking action.
The crew comprises of cinematographer Adam Greenberg (Snakes on a Plane, Rush Hour, Sphere, Terminator, T2), editor Peter Amundson (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Hellboy, Godzilla), production designer Leslie Dilley (Deep Impact, The Peacemaker, The Abyss, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Alien) with stunts by Richard Ryan (The Dark Knight, The Golden Compass, Stardust, Troy).
The film is being produced by Rick Benattar (Shoot ’Em Up, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), Jonathan English (A Good Woman) and Andrew Curtis (Lost In La Mancha) for Mythic International Entertainment, Glenn Kendrick Ackermann is executive producer.
ContentFilm is selling the film at the Berlinale.
