ContentFilm International has landed worldwide sales rights to the post apocalyptic action thriller THE FALLOUT, to be directed by Xavier Gens; whose previous films include the Box Office Smash ‘Hitman’ and French Blockbuster Horror ‘Frontiere(s)’, produced by Luc Besson’s Europacorp. THE FALLOUT is set to start principal photography in Feb 2010 in Eastern Europe. Frequent collaborator with Gens, director of photography Laurent Barès (‘Hitman’), will lense the film.
This high concept post-apocalyptic thriller opens with the world in panic and a chaotic sprint down to the basement of a New York apartment building-turned fallout shelter by its eccentric and crazy ‘Super’ just moments before the city outside is destroyed…
With twists and turns throughout, edge of your seat action and no way of knowing who will make it out alive, THE FALLOUT is a gripping, intelligent and action packed psychological thriller that combines elements of ‘Assault on Precinct 13’ with ‘Lord of the Flies’ in a story of survival unlike anything we have ever seen!
“To survive the end of the world, you first must survive each other…”
THE FALLOUT is produced by Ross Dinerstein (The Killing Room, Powder Blue, Unknown),Darryn Welch (Goal! The Dream Begins,The Bang Bang Club, Stag Night), and Tony Krantz (24, Mulholland Drive) and was written by Karl Mueller and Eron Sheean who will also co produce.
Producer Ross Dinerstein said: ‘“Xavier’s vision for this film is extraordinary. He brings a visual edge to this fascinating exploration of the human condition.” Producer Darryn Welch said:“with a collective of ‘End of the World’ movies hitting the theatres presently, this film will undoubtedly stand out like a ravenous Pit bull in a school playground… brace yourselves cause this film has a serious bite to it!” CFI’s Carmichael said: ‘Xavier is a super talented, commercial filmmaker and he’s a perfect match for this terrifying material. It’s going to be a very stylish genre film and we’re extremely excited to be working with him, Ross and Darryn.’
ContentFilm International will be selling the film at the upcoming AFM in Santa Monica.
