Peter Greenaway has wrapped a seven-week shoot in Poland and Wales for his Rembrandt story Nightwatching, which is timed with the 400th anniversary of the painter’s birth.
Martin Freeman stars as the Dutch master, with the cast also including Eva Birthistle, Jodhi May, Emily Holmes and Chris Britton.
The mystery/drama is set in 1642 follows the events leading up to the creation of the masterpiece The Night Watch. Kees Kasander is producing in association with ContentFilm International, which is handling international sales (a teaser promo is available at AFM).
Deals have already been struck with Bac in France, Manga in Spain, Tokyo Theatres & Movie Eye in Japan, Spentzos in Greece, Lusomundo in Portugal, Monolith in Poland, Paradise in Russia and Europa in Brazil.
