Fireworks International, the television and digital distribution arm of ContentFilm plc, today announced the sale of kids live action comedy series FAMILY BIZ to leading Latin American youth entertainment channel Boomerang, a Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. network.
The 26 x half hour high definition series, produced by Muse Entertainment/Summit Crescent Productions and Breakout Films, will premiere on Boomerang in Latin America in November. Airing each week in an evening primetime slot, the series will reach over 21 million viewers throughout the region. The acquisition of FAMILY BIZ adds to a number of series licensed recently by Boomerang from Fireworks International. Other series acquired include the hilarious 13 x half hour teen drama series THE ASSISTANTS (A Tom Lynch Company Production) and the 49 x one-hour multi-award winning family drama series, HEARTLAND (A SEVEN24 Films and Dynamo Films production).
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Fireworks International with our latest acquisition of the series FAMILY BIZ, which we are confident will be well-received by Boomerang viewers throughout Latin America,” said Cindy Kerr, Vice President of Acquisitions and Content Delivery for Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, Inc. “Our previous acquisitions, THE ASSISTANTS and HEARTLAND, have been among the most watched shows on Boomerang,” she added.
Diana Zakis, Vice President of Sales Latin America and Asia at Fireworks International commented, “In working with Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, Inc. and their vibrant teen and tween channel, Boomerang, we’ve found the perfect home for our series THE ASSISTANTS and HEARTLAND, and are now excited to add FAMILY BIZ, our latest tween live-action comedy series, to their quality line-up.”
Live action comedy FAMILY BIZ follows the lives of Eli, Avalon and Ronnie Keller, three latchkey kids who have made their house into the neighbourhood social hub. Their parents, Dave and Antonia Keller, work long and hard at their careers and the Keller kids like it that way. Teen insanity rules! But then their Dad is downsized. And the Keller kids’ world will never be the same. A self-proclaimed ‘corporate gunslinger,’ Dave Keller now works from home out of his office in the attic. He issues the kids briefcases and business cards. They are now employees of the Keller Family Corporation and as Dave applies every rule he ever learned in the business world to the business of parenting the kids are left wondering if they will ever survive!
FAMILY BIZ is created by James Nadler (The Zack Files) and stars Doug Murray (How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days), Ephraim Ellis (Falcon Beach), Lori Alter (The Cheetah Girls), Rebecca Windheim (The Last Templar) and introduces Kate Corbett. Executive Producers are Michael Prupas (Human Trafficking), James Nadler (The Zack Files) and Georges Campana (Touching Wild Horses). The series is produced by Jesse Prupas (I Me Wed) and co-produced by Astrid Lecerf (Paradise Found).
