Featuring an all-star cast headed by Jeff Bridges at his ‘Big Lebowski’ best, THE MOGULS is a both hilarious and extremely touching story about bettering yourself against all odds – in the most unconventional of ways!In a nothing bar in a small, nowhere industrial town, sits Andy Sargentee (JEFF BRIDGES) – a nice guy down on his luck. Jobs have come and gone. Crazy moneymaking enterprises have crumbled to dust. His ex-wife has married a rich guy who can buy his only son all the things that Andy can’t afford. All Andy’s got is a bunch of loving loser friends and a desire to do something – ANYTHING – to change his destiny.Staring morosely at the small ads in the town paper, filled with bikini clad models and sexual innuendo, it comes to him in a flash – HE’LL MAKE A PORNO FILM! WITH HIS FRIENDS! And so it begins. With his characteristic enthusiasm, Andy inspires his small community – friends, neighbours, geeky guys and middle aged ladies – to come together to live the dream. People invest their savings. Andy’s best friend Barney (TIM BLAKE NELSON) agrees to co-produce the film. A cameraman, Emmet (PATRICK FUGIT) is found in the local video store. Their friend Some Idiot (JOE PANTOLIANO) has taken evening classes in screenwriting and demands to be the writer/director. Moose (TED DANSON), their old friend who clings to the idea that no-one knows he’s gay, loves to have an excuse to pretend to want to look at naked girls. And Otis (WILLIAM FICHTNER), who wants nothing more than to look at naked girls, signs on as Executive Producer.The motley crew stumble along, overcoming obstacles they never imagined and facing demons they had chosen to ignore. But just as they seem to have achieved their goal, disaster strikes – it looks as though the film has been ruined. Faced with the destruction of the whole town’s dream, can Andy find a way to salvage something from the wreckage?
