Dave Strange is from the city. His world is fast-paced, tough and suspicious. Jerome Rich is from the heartland. His world is sleepy, peaceful and neighbourly. They have nothing in common, except they are both cops. And their worlds are about to collide. Strange has come to Rich’s small prairie town in search of a safer life for his family. But as the new police chief, Strange finds himself surrounded by a police force, led by senior officer Rich, who are all suspicious of his big city ways. It is not long before Strange gets his taste of reality. There has been a murder. Worse still, rumour has it that a convicted murderer is back in town to settle old scores and retrieve a cache of stolen money. It’s going to take the combination of Strange’s urban instincts and Rich’s ingenuity to bring safety back to Hamelin.
