Saralo MacGregor & Kathryn Rice given increased responsibilities within Fireworks London, 4 October 2005: Greg Phillips, President of Fireworks International, has announced the promotion of Saralo MacGregor to Executive Vice-President, Worldwide Distribution, and Kathryn Rice to Senior Vice-President, European Sales and Acquisitions for the company. Under the new structure, Saralo MacGregor will oversee and manage all of Fireworks International’s day-to-day sales and marketing activity. In Kathryn Rice’s expanded role, she will continue to be responsible for sales to Europe, Middle East, and Africa, while adding acquisition of new programming to her sales duties. Clare Weatherill, Vice-President Marketing & Communications, and Kathryn Rice, with respect to her sales responsibilities, will now report directly to Saralo MacGregor. On acquisitions, Rice will report to Greg Phillips directly. Greg Phillips said of the promotions, “Following the sale of Fireworks International to ContentFilm plc, the international TV distribution company is looking to a bright new future, with a new parent company that is enthusiastic to grow the division further. Saralo and Kathryn’s expertise and wealth of experience will be invaluable in the coming period. The changes will allow me to concentrate, with the help of our new principals, on expanding the activity and reach of the company and, most particularly, the library by adding new programmes to the catalogue and acquiring new catalogues when available. Expanding existing relationships and forging new ones with key customers and suppliers will also be a priority. Saralo’s presence in Los Angeles will help us access North American product opportunities, and Kathryn’s new role will see her utilise her many contacts on the UK production scene, gained in her assignments pre-Fireworks, helping us secure representation of British programming to aid in our overall goals.”
