ContentFilm International has acquired international sales rights to the action thriller THE TECHNICIAN.

Jon Cassar, the lead director of the smash hit TV series ‘24’ (over 55 episodes including 24: Redemption and the opening of new 7th season, twice Emmy Award (r) Winner and DGA Best Director Winner) will direct from a screenplay by Ken Lamplugh and John Weidner. THE TECHNICIAN is an explosive action thriller. Suspended from duty for psychological evaluation, Grant Bishop was the best sniper in the business until the day he’d had enough and could kill no more. But a call from Parish, a supposed-to-be dead fellow soldier, draws him into a deadly game of cat and mouse as Parish forces him in to a series of potentially lethal challenges that can only end one way. Can Bishop kill again to save himself?

ContentFilm is selling the film at the Berlinale.

Producer Harry Ufland said, “We’ve been very lucky to be able to match such a good director to such an excellent script. Its clear that there’s a huge appetite for upscale, studio quality commercial action thrillers and in The Technician we have a prime example.”

ContentFilm Intl President, Jamie Carmichael said, “When I met Jon for the first time I knew we had a hit. There are very few people out there who understand action, tension and drama the way he does. His work on 24 makes for a very compelling argument. ‘The Technician’ is exactly what the market is looking for right now. We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Jon and the Uflands on this extremely cool project.”
