YOUNG DRACULA follows the hilarious adventures of Vlad, an irrepressible twelve-year-old boy as he tries to fit into a new school after moving with his family from Transylvania to English suburbia. He just has to overcome one major difficulty – Vlad has to hide the fact that his family are all vampires! Constantly having to make sure that your friends are not turned into involuntary blood donors for your father, Count Dracula; getting up when normal people are going to bed; brushing off parental advice to always seek revenge, to cheat and to cause as much discord as possible; and also ensure that his licentious mother and her werewolf lover stay away from the family castle, are just a few of the things that fill up Vlad’s days. As if all that weren’t enough, Vlad and his friends must try to outwit his woodwork teacher, Van Helsing, who is hell-bent on exposing the vampire clan. Will Vlad and family – his father, his vampish sister Ingrid with their cockroach sandwich-eating servant, Renfield, be exposed for the blood-sucking, corpse-eating vampires that they are, or will Vlad get to grow up as a normal boy – albeit in a rather dysfunctional family – and avoid growing fangs and turning into a fully-fledged vampire when he reaches sixteen?
