The film includes performances of Trumbo’s letters from the likes of Joan Allen, Michael Douglas, Paul Giammati, Nathan Lane, Josh Lucas, Liam Neeson, David Strathairn and Donald Sutherland.

Will Battersby and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures produced with Alan Klingenstein and David Viola of Filbert Steps.

The deal with ContentFilm was negotiated on behalf of the producers by William Morris Independent.

ContentFilm said that all international rights are currently available, and Trumbo will have market screenings at the forthcoming AFM on Nov 3 and 5.

Jamie Carmichael, president of ContentFilm, said: “Dalton Trumbo’s story has lessons for us all about the Freedom of Speech issue; the power of this film is how relevant it is – and the joy of it, is that it does so in such an engaging and funny way.”
