What do you get if you cross ‘Mean Girls’, ‘Clueless’ and ‘Election’ and put it in the form of an adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘King Lear’? The answer lies in the form of this delicious and devilishly funny high school comedy QUEEN LARA. Lara Kingston, the ‘reigning beautiful bitch goddess’, has just been crowned Homecoming Queen by her adoring fans. Deciding that now with only one goal still remaining – to be hailed Prom Queen – she has no need for the more time consuming aspects of her ‘Kingdom’, so she decides to divide them out amongst her clique of worshipping Juniors. When the positions of head cheerleader and student council president are handed out to squeals of delight to Gina and Regie, Lara is furious when the fabulous offer to hand over her own boyfriend, the perfectly gorgeous and utterly dense Kurt, is snubbed by her best friend, Connie. With a new focus on making Connie’s life utterly miserable, Lara fails to notice the now thoroughly ruthless Gina and Regie take control of her Kingdom from within, and soon finds herself with absolutely nothing and no-one, except an enlightened yet geeky younger brother to offer her help and advice (in return for naked cheerleader shower photos) and the sweet and ever forgiving Connie to join forces with. So there’s a prom election, a rigged ballot, mayhem aplenty, a burst fake breast, a brawl, an insane asylum and eventually a happily ever after – but who for?

As sharp as ‘Heathers’ and as absurd as ‘American Pie’, QUEEN LARA is the mother of all teen queens!
