Produced by Ted Kroeber and Kai Berry, “Splinter” is set in and around a quiet gas station on a lonely freeway, where a terrifying virus-like monster inhabits the bodies of its victims and drives them with a relentless lust for blood.

Wilkins was previously chosen by horror maestro Sam Raimi to direct “Tales of the Grudge,” a series of short films to promote Raimi’s second installment of the “Grudge” franchise. Two of his shorts have screened at Sundance, and he has also done f/x and design work for James Cameron, Brett Ratner and Bryan Singer. Wilkins’ CGI skills will be put to use with the virus monster in “Splinter,” which twists the bodies of its prey into the shapes best suited to carry out its unrelenting desire to infect more victims and kill again. Script is written by Berry and Ian Shorr. Content topper Jamie Carmichael said, “We loved the script and having met Toby we committed our investment there and then. ‘Splinter’ is going to freak some people out.” Cast will be announced shortly.
