Country music star Dolly Parton is to perform at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles next month.
The 60-year-old singer will sing her Academy Award nominated song Travellin’ Through, from the film Transamerica.
Kathleen “Bird” York is also due to perform her shortlisted song In The Deep, from the soundtrack of Crash.
Actress Uma Thurman, nominated for an Oscar in 1995 for her lead role in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, is to present one of the statuettes. Thurman joins a growing list of film stars already confirmed as presenters for the Academy Awards on 5 March, including past Oscar winners Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks and Morgan Freeman.
Three original songs will compete for this year’s trophy, with Jordan Houston’s It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp completing the line-up alongside Dolly Parton and Kathleen York.
