31 March, 2008

London, 31st March 2008 – Fireworks International, the television distribution arm of ContentFilm Plc, announced today that it has secured multiplatform distribution rights to a selection of brand new original productions as part of its continued relationship with UK based animation studio ZAC Toons.

International TV, Broadband, Video, Mobile and VOD rights are available for the properties, which will be launched at MIP-TV. Included in the deal is ABC Wid Da Mob (10 x 1 minute), featuring a host of misplaced Mafioso types presenting their own brand of early learning; Crazy Cabbies (10 x 1 minute), a fly on the wall look at the bizarre antics of crazy cab drivers, as they bemuse and terrorize their unsuspecting passengers; and Blood Red (10 x 1 minute), a 21st century makeover of the traditional fairy tale as Little Red Riding Hood becomes the flirtatious Blood Red. Fireworks International will also handle distribution rights (excluding UK) for Chaving It (48 x 30 seconds to 1 minute), which unpicks life’s more complex conundrums with Quinne and Cortina, two lovable little Chavs, full of attitude and inherently materialistic.

ZAC Toons specializes in producing premium entertainment properties featuring original and irreverent characters and cartoons, often with an edgy comedic slant. Its library has already seen success with mobile operators worldwide and has developed a following through a variety of online portals. Fireworks International will continue to represent the 10 x 2 minute property Mr. Patel, a hilarious, exaggerated and twisted Bollywood extravaganza.

Troy Zafer, co-founder and Managing Director of ZAC Toons, commented, “We are extremely pleased to continue our affiliation with Fireworks International – their experience and skill in securing the ideal platforms for our titles is proving invaluable as we continue to expand and develop our portfolio of properties for the worldwide marketplace”.

Jonathan Ford, Vice President of Digital Distribution for Fireworks International added, “ZAC Toons properties are proving hugely popular worldwide and we are delighted to strengthen our relationship with the company by adding these new titles to our catalogue. Their fresh content and strong themes combined with an edgy and innovative style are perfect to meet the demands of today’s consumer”.
