While surfing the Web a couple of years ago, Vera and George Gara came across a document containing a list of possessions stolen from Vera’s family by the Nazis during the World War II. The inventory included a valuable painting by Austrian painter Albin Egger-Lienz. During the war, thousands of priceless works of art were looted by invading Nazi armies. George and Vera Gara have traced their painting to Vienna and to its current owner, Dr. Rudolph Leopold, a wealthy Austrian who recently opened a gallery in his name to house his vast private art collection.
