Synopsis
A group of young archeologists and students are working on a dig at La Roque, a ruined medieval fort in France. When their team leader, Professor Johnston, disappears, they discover a seemingly impossible clue to his whereabouts: his spectacles – in an underground chamber which has been sealed for centuries! Their search for him leads them to confront their benefactor Doniger, a technical tycoon, whose scientists have developed a machine which allows them to ‘fax’ objects – and people – through time. Unfortunately the technology is flawed, and the professor is now trapped in 14th Century feudal France, just a few hours prior to the ferocious battle which laid waste to the Fort… The team, including dig leader Marek, brainy Kate, the prof’s son Chris and Gordon, a Doniger employee, go back in time to rescue him from the evil English Lord Oliver, but before long they are caught up in an epic battle between the French and English armies. Using their knowledge of historical detail, our heroes try to help the French attackers – the sympathetic underdogs in this scenario, led by Lord Arnaut and his beautiful sister Lady Claire – whilst surviving the perils of medieval warfare and making it back to the future without altering the course of history.
